Math 24

Math 24 is a volunteer-run program in which students in grades 3-6 sharpen their basic mental math and problem-solving skills by playing a fast-moving numbers game.

Each spring, the Encinitas Union School District hosts a Math 24 tournament (typically hosted by LCH), in which scholars from EUSD schools compete to be recognized as the district’s top players.

The object of the game is to make the number 24 from the four numbers on a game card, by adding subtracting, multiplying, or dividing.  All four numbers on the card must be used in the final solution.

The game is beneficial for students of all math levels, and is lots of fun!  Eager La Costa Heights students meet at lunch to practice the game and compete for a place on our Math 24 team.
